Extended Sketchbook

11 - 14 January 2022

A natural follow-on course from: The Instant Sketchbook, although you don’t have to attended the former to attend this. A predominate part of the course will revolve around using old books to create alternative sketchbooks. Working from your imagination the course will start with a series of rapid sketchbook exercises to develop topics of interest and explore how to work quickly and open yourself to serendipity. You will then proceed to creating an extended sketchbook, in an old book, where you develop and expand your own themes and motifs.

Starting with a photograph, develop your approach, ideas and momentum to make new art through mixed media drawing. The course will provide you with unique ways of thinking about your subject matter, and the means to make new work with momentum in future.
